Instructions
- 1.Whisk the flour, baking soda, and salt together in a bowl and set aside.
- 2.Cream the butter with the granulated and light brown sugars in a stand mixer on medium-low for about 5 minutes until light and fluffy.
- 3.Add the room temperature egg and vanilla extract, mixing on low until fully incorporated and scraping the bowl down as needed.
- 4.Add the flour mixture and mix on low until almost combined, leaving some flour streaks visible.
- 5.Add the chocolate chips and stir on low to distribute them and finish combining the dough.
- 6.Cover the dough and chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour.
- 7.Scoop the dough into roughly 1.5 tablespoon balls, roll smooth, place on a baking sheet, and top each with a few chocolate chips.
- 8.Bake at 375°F for 10 to 12 minutes until the edges are golden and set.
