A scientist and a systems builder

Solute is built where exercise physiology meets operations at scale — one designs the science, the other builds the system that delivers it to every athlete.

Nate is an exercise physiologist and ACSM Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist (RCEP) with a master's in Exercise Science. He designs the Sweatprint™ protocol — how we collect and interpret each athlete's data — and translates the science of hydration, sodium balance, and carbohydrate oxidation into formulas people can actually feel. As exercise-physiology faculty and the founder of a running performance lab, he has worked with athletes from professional cyclists and triathletes to weekend runners, and grounds Solute in an “Exercise is Medicine” conviction that fueling should be measured, not assumed.

The ‘average’ athlete doesn’t exist. Fueling should start with your numbers, not someone else’s.

Scott builds the machine that makes personalization scale. He spent two decades turning messy inputs into precise, reproducible, auditable systems at scale — as Investment Operations Director at Utah Retirement Systems and previously a Vice President at Goldman Sachs — the same problem individualized fueling poses. At Solute he owns the formulation engine, data pipeline, and platform: the software that turns raw sweat-test inputs and athlete profiles into exact formulas, and lets us refine them across a season. He holds a degree from the University of Utah.

Personalization is a systems problem. Solve it once and every athlete gets their own answer.
