The process

From unknown to engineered, in five steps

01

Intake questionnaire

Before any testing, you tell us who you are as an athlete: body weight, sport, typical session duration and intensity, training climate, GI tolerance, and goals. This shapes how we interpret your test results.

02

The Sweatprint™ Test

The test itself captures two numbers: your sweat sodium concentration and your sweat rate. Choose in-person testing at a partner site, or an at-home kit you use during a normal training session. Sampling across a few sessions — cool, hot, and long — lets us build a response curve and predict your needs in conditions you haven't tested yet. TODO: finalize at-home kit fulfillment and partner site list.

03

Analysis by our engine

Your Sweatprint™ results and intake profile run through Solute's formulation engine, which calculates the sodium, maltodextrin, and fructose ratio that matches your measured losses and carbohydrate needs — and flags which optional additives your profile supports.

04

Your custom formula(s)

You may get more than one formula: a race-day version, a training version, and a heat-adapted version, since sweat rate and sodium needs shift with intensity and environment.

05

Adaptive re-testing

As you heat-acclimatize and move through training blocks, your sweat rate and electrolyte concentration shift. We time re-testing to those thermoregulation adaptation points — individually or across a whole team — so your formula tracks your physiology instead of drifting out of date. Performance-tier athletes get this cadence built in.
